Six Daily Questions to Ask Yourself in Quarantine

Okay, that first week of staying home was a little like Spring Break, the second week seemed a little longer.... Unless you're considered "essential personnel," you're probably being encouraged to work from home or you're staying with children during a school closure--or both. We're all wondering how much longer we're going to need to be in our homes and are searching for ways to survive the coming weeks.

A colleague shared this article with me today and I thought it had some really good points, so I thought I'd share with you. It includes great ideas on how to manage this time of quarantine and addresses the struggle we have to maintain that sense of "normalcy"(and asks how much do I have to stress over this?). I especially liked two points it made:

1. It reframes the idea of "social distancing" to "social solidarity while we maintain physical distance." It provides good ideas to stay connected with those around us. Connectedness is a basic human need and can add to our mental well being during this time.

2. It reminds us of the restorative capacity of being outside. Spring isn't aware there is a pandemic. There are flowers blooming and trees budding. Take some time to go out and enjoy the warmer weather. It will lift your spirits and improve your outlook.

All the suggestions are free and can be "teaching moments" for kids, or you can enjoy doing them by yourself. Tell me what you think! https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/six_daily_questions_to_ask_yourself_in_quarantine
